KODA INSTITUTE
MISSIONS
Real deployments in real environments. Every KODA mission shows what autonomous field sensing looks like when it leaves the lab and enters the world.
Mission 06: Pacific Mangrove Watch
Est Completion Date: Mar 2027
A single probe deployed in a Colombian Pacific coast mangrove forest monitoring water salinity levels, temperature, humidity, and tidal influence across a 60 day period. Camera captures document mangrove canopy health and wildlife activity. A conservation NGO monitors the data remotely from Cali.
Mission 04: Amazon Tributary Watch
Est Completion Date: Nov 2026
A weatherproof probe mounted at the edge of a remote Colombian Amazon river tributary. Monitors water level fluctuation, ambient temperature, and humidity across a three month wet season. Researchers trigger camera captures remotely to document flooding patterns and wildlife activity.
Mission 02: Sierra Nevada Bird Watch
Est Completion Date: Sep 2026
A Static Sentinel deployed in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, one of the world's most biodiverse mountain ranges. Monitoring temperature, humidity, and light at 1,800 meters elevation while an onboard camera triggers automatically on motion. Ornithologists at a Colombian university track endemic and migratory bird activity across an entire field season without visiting the site.
Mission 05: Paramo Soil Monitor
Est Completion Date: Jan 2027
Three static probes placed across a one hectare paramo ecosystem in the Colombian Andes. Each node monitors soil temperature, moisture, and CO2 at five minute intervals. Researchers receive their first continuous spatial picture of paramo soil conditions across an entire study plot without a single return visit to the site.
Mission 03: Andean Cloud Watch
Est Completion Date: Oct 2026
A single Static Sentinel deployed in a Colombian cloud forest at 2,400 meters elevation. Monitoring temperature, humidity, light, and soil moisture through a full dry season. Camera triggers on motion to document rare orchid pollinator activity. Data streams live to a research team at a Bogota university in real time.
Mission 01: Cocoa Farm Canopy Monitor
Est Completion Date: Aug 2026
A probe deployed above a shade grown cocoa plantation in the Colombian department of Huila. Monitoring canopy temperature, humidity, light penetration, and soil moisture to help farmers understand microclimate conditions affecting crop yield. Data streams to a simple farmer facing dashboard giving smallholder growers their first continuous picture of what is happening.
